Already having the brand name, they look for an identity that is affable, and implies youthful spirit that will likely speak to the health-conscious hipsters and general contemporary consumers.
The logo features “japanese oji-san” (old man), that is composed from a matcha jar and a lid, round glasses, as leaves and moustache. The “ojiisan” represent the heritage aspect of matcha, while the playful cartoon approach, and general greenish hue implies the youthful, lifestyle, and health-forward attitude of the urban consumers.
